Keys to nursing home to be handed over this year
By Aideen O'Flaherty
BUILDING work on the new Tymon North Community Nursing Home in Tallaght has resumed following the heavy snowfall earlier this month, and it is expected that the keys to the property will be handed over by the end of this year, reports Aideen O’Flaherty.
Issues with parking, which became apparent during the development of the site, have also now been resolved after the HSE liaised with Enable Ireland to reach a resolution.

The new 100-bed community nursing facility is expected to use just over half of their beds to house older people from St Brigid’s Nursing Home Crooksling in Brittas, which is scheduled to close in 2020 ahead of services being moved to the new Tymon North facility.
Fianna Fail councillor Charlie O’Connor, who is also a member of the Regional Health Forum for Dublin Mid-Leinster, told The Echo: “I’m monitoring the development on behalf of people in the area, and have been doing so in conjunction with my colleague [Labour councillor] Mick Duff.
“It’s important for the wider community that this project is completed on time so we can get patients into the nursing home, which has been welcomed locally.
“The development seems to be progressing well.”
The fit out of the new centre is expected to be completed by early next year, with the first residents expected to be housed in the new development in 2020.
