Kingswood Christmas Fair and Artisan Market opens

Kingswood Christmas Fair and Artisan Market is set to take place in the car-park beside The Kingswood Lodge pub from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, December 16, reports Ken Doyle.

A lively afternoon of entertainment and fun for all the family is promised with stalls, a live concert and Santa himself arriving at 4.30pm.

Event organiser Derek McDonnell told The Echo, “Apart from spreading a bit of Christmas cheer, proceeds from the day will go to providing two new defibrillators for Kingswood, with the idea being that we run a first aid training course so that every street in Kingswood will have a trained first responder living on it.”

“Anything left over will go towards the maintenance of Kingswood National School.”

Derek adds: “We’ve had some great support, but we’d like to particularly thank Amazon Web Services, who have been invaluable to our efforts.”

As well as music playing throughout the day, there will be face painting, and a great selection of artisan products along with food and drinks for sale.

There will also be an introduction to the all-important Defibrillator.

Entertainment on the day is set to be provided by St Kilian’s National School Choir, dance troupe Got2Dance, Kira Coleman and Emma May, with Kingswood Community Choir and a display of Irish dancing.
