Actavo Civils Division has been awarded the Barrow Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme Project by Dublin City Council valued at over €5 million.

The project encompasses a comprehensive transformation of Barrow Street from its junctions with Grand Canal Street Upper and Ringsend Road and will commence in early January 2024.

The contract, valued at over €5m, was secured following a competitive tendering process.

The project will involve a range of significant improvements, including carriageway resurfacing in asphalt and the repaving of footpaths with new granite.

Additionally, Actavo with its head offices located at Westland House, Willow Road in Dublin 12, will undertake the rehabilitation of a section of water-main, the installation of new traffic and public lighting infrastructure, and the integration of aesthetically pleasing street furniture.

Ollie Raftery, Head of Civils, Actavo Ireland, said: “Actavo Civils is delighted to be selected as a trusted provider for the delivery of the Barrow Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme Project by Dublin City Council. The team is committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions that positively impact the communities we serve. This project aligns with our mission to contribute to the enhancement of urban spaces, and we are eager to commence work in January 2024.”

Actavo has a proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects, and the Barrow Street initiative underscores its expertise and continued commitment to excellence in urban development.

Actavo Civils was recently awarded the ‘Civil Construction Project of the Year’ at the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2023 for its work on the Rock Road Sustainable Transport Scheme, which was carried out on behalf of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
