
Luis and the Aliens – Callum to star in animated film

Hearing your voice as part of an animation on the big screen is something people spend their entire lives dreaming about, but for Callum Maloney it took a mere 14 years as he is set to star in the upcoming film, Luis and the Aliens.
Saggart native Callum began his acting career at age four with the drama group, Talented Kids in Clondalkin. Only taking a year to rise to stardom, Callum was featured in his first film at age five.

At twelve years old, during a period he explains “was a time where I was going through a lot of auditions and wasn’t hearing anything back, making me doubt myself as an actor”, he landed the lead role for the new movie coming to cinemas on August 4, Luis and the Aliens.
Luis and the Aliens is an aminated film about a 12-year-old boy who embarks on a wild quest to help three aliens return to their huge mother ship after crashing their little spaceship nearby Luis' house.
The St Mac Dara’s Community College student balances life as a determined student and a rising actor as this will be the eighth movie he has starred in.
Among the eight movies he has been featured in is a Christmas movie called The Magic Reindeer, Stiches which is a horror film and Two By Two another animated film.
Callum explains that, “acting has been an outlet with helping me with confidence issues and hard times in my life. It has been my passion since I can remember.”
Callum recorded his voice in a sound studio in the city centre and will watch the film for the first time in cinema with friends and family when it premieres.
He said, “I am very excited to see the film because the animation is some of the best I’ve ever seen. My parents are very proud and have told everyone they know that their son is starring in a big movie.”
For now, Callum is continuing to audition when he can and hopes it is something he can continue because he is very passionate about his acting career.
