Major plans for Maxol petrol station at Naas Road junction

MAXOL Limited have applied for the demolition of the existing forecourt building at the junction of Naas Road/Long Mile Road in Walkinstown to construct a new single-storey forecourt building.

The plans submitted include the demolition of the existing forecourt building (246 sq m); removal of the existing car wash facility, storage shed and totem signs at Maxol, Long Mile Road Junction; demolition of existing building (180 sq m); removal of portacabin (59 sq m) and the part removal of boundary treatments at Beechlawn Motors and The Huntsman Service Station.

Maxol’s proposed plans include the construction of a single-storey forecourt building (491 sq m) accommodating a shop (100 sqm including a 16 sqm ancillary off-licence); three restaurant/café areas including the sale of hot and cold food for consumption on and off the premises, including a drive-thru facility; associated restaurant/café seating area; ancillary kitchens and staff and customer facilities.

The planning application also provides for plant storage; back of house and circulation spaces; external compound; substation switch room (23 sq m) and solid fuel store (10 sq m); signage (replacement of two 7m-high double-sided internally illuminated totem signs, at a revised location; illuminated shopfront signage on proposed forecourt building; signage associated with the car-wash facility and solid fuel store.

Also included are four double-sided poster signs located at entry points; revisions to the overall site layout, including the provision of 35 car-parking spaces; bicycle parking spaces; vehicular circulation including amendment of existing vehicular access point at the Beechlawn Motors site to provide entry only. 

A new car-wash facility is also included alongside alterations to external lighting; changes to levels; hard and soft landscaping including revised boundary treatments and associated site servicing (water supply, foul and surface water drainage, including surface water attenuation measures).

All other associated site development works above and below ground include; temporary structure (72 sq m) to accommodate a shop (net retail area 12 sq m); storage; ancillary support facilities; temporary siting of the proposed solid-fuel store (10.7 sq m) during construction.
