Making Memories at Ballyfermot Youth Service’s Summer Camp

CHILDREN at Ballyfermot Youth Service’s Summer Camp have been making memories over the past two weeks by taking part in a wide range of activities.

Ballyfermot Youth Service’s (BYS) Gurteen Youth Club Summer Camp has made sure to keep the local children busy with activities such as kayaking, beach trips, painting and singing.

Speaking with The Echo, Manager at BYS, Gerry Mc Carthy said that the camp has been running for the last two weeks with 75 kids between ages 8-12 taking part.

“They were all doing water sports there the other day– they were doing kayaking on the canal. We have also done cycling and music and quite a lot over the last two weeks,” said Gerry.

“They are all having a ball. We had someone teaching the tin whistle, singing lessons, arts and crafts – it’s been amazing.”

The Camp’s colour run will take place next Wednesday- something the kids are all looking forward to that will finish off the jam-packed two weeks they’ve enjoyed.
