Making of a masterly mighty mosaic mural

A GROUP of local women worked together for weeks on an art project – producing a stunning piece of art based on the Balgaddy Child and Family Centre’s logo.
The mosaic was unveiled just before Christmas by South Dublin County Mayor Vicki Casserly to much fanfare in the centre.
Last year, Balgaddy Child and Family Centre`s gardening group made an application to South Dublin County Council for some funding to develop and implement a community art project.
The group wanted to design a mosaic tile mural to be erected and displayed publicly on the wall outside the centre, on Meile An Ri Road, Balgaddy.
They invited the Mayor to officially unveil the mosaic, which is displayed on the outside wall of the centre to acknowledge and celebrate this group’s achievement.
