
Man arrested following stabbing incident in Ballymount
A MAN has been arrested following a stabbing incident at an industrial estate in Ballymount on Wednesday evening.
Gardai rushed to the scene around 9pm at the industrial estate and arrested a man who is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin.
The injured man was moved to Tallaght University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A garda statement released this morning said: “Gardaí in Crumlin have arrested one man following a serious assault in Ballymount, Dublin 12 on Wednesday evening, 25th September 2024.
“At approximately 9.00pm, Gardaí were alerted to an assault at an industrial estate in Ballymount. A man (aged in his 20s) received a stab wound during the course of an altercation with a second man.
“The injured man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“A man (aged in his late teens) was arrested at the scene of the incident and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin.
“A weapon which is understood to have been used during the course of the incident was seized by Gardaí for a technical examination”.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
