
Man charged after incident in Castletymon shopping centre

A MAN in his twenties has been charged in relation to an incident at the Castletymon Shopping Centre in Tallaght yesterday (Monday), which saw gardai recover two knives at the scene.
At around 6pm yesterday evening, a male entered one of the shop units armed with a knife.
A Garda spokesman has confirmed to Echo.ie that a man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident and is due to appear before court.
The spokesman added that two knives were recovered during the incident, which is being described as a “dispute” on the premises.
In a statement to Echo.ie, a Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident at a shopping centre in Tallaght on the 18th September 2017 at approximately 6pm.
“Two knives were recovered during the incident.
“A man in his 20s was arrested and conveyed to Tallaght Garda Station.
“He has since been charged to appear before court at a later date.”
When asked if there was an attempt to rob the premises, the spokesman said: “It was a dispute on the premises.”
