When Foran first appeared in court on January 3 last, his face was heavily bandaged.

The court had heard that Foran had suffered two fractured ribs, one fractured finger and had received 30 stitches to his head.

Foran, aged 33, with an address at Allenton Avenue, Tallaght, is charged with attempting to rob Jason Doyle, acting manager, at The Speaker Conolly, Firhouse Shopping Centre, on January 1, 2018, contrary to Common Law.

Judge Mitchell noted that the case was before the court for DPP’s directions. He asked if directions were available. Sergeant Michael Phelan said directions were not available. He asked for a remand of four weeks.

Foran’s solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan, consented to the application.

Judge Mitchell remanded Foran on continuing bail for four weeks for DPP’s directions. As part of his bail, Foran must have no contact with the injured party or any other witnesses and he must stay away from the Firhouse area.
