Man dies in Tallaght after hit-and-run incident in estate

A man (30s) has died in Tallaght this evening after he was struck by a car in Brookview Close.

The incident occurred at approximately 7pm and the road is currently closed pending a Garda forensic collision examination.

The driver of the car fled the scene on foot, and Gardai in Tallaght are seeking the public’s help, pleading with anyone with information to come forward.

In statement a Garda spokesperson said: A man in his 30s was struck by a car at this location and was pronounced dead a short time later.  

“Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station 01-666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

“No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.”
