BALLYFERMOT grandad Matt Dodd has been revealed as one of the Ireland’s Got Talent wildcards and will go through to the Grand Final in The Helix on Saturday night.

Following a strong performance on Monday night’s show, judge Louis Walsh said Matt had “control” and “passion” about his performance, despite the 68-year-old being eliminated at the semi-final stages.

Matt will be joined by Zacc Milne, the other wildcard, in the Grand Final.

Discussing the wildcard selections, head judge Louis Walsh said, “It was a miracle we even managed to agree on two as there were points in the discussion that got pretty heated but I’m delighted we have and we’re all delighted Matt Dodd and Zacc will be getting a second shot at the title.

“The truth is Ireland simply has too much talent, it’s going to be an absolutely incredible final,” said Louis.

Matt Dodd will be joined by Tallaght’s Xquisite Dance who qualified last night (Thursday) and Double Impact performers Syesha (9), from Tallaght, and Kyle, in what should be a thrilling grand finale.
