May Team of the Month: Kilnamanagh Football Club U12s
THE Month of May was one to remember for Kilnamanagh Football Club’s girls U12 team when they claimed the All-Ireland crown for the very first time.
The Tallaght side turned on the style in the decider when they overcame a highly fancied Lucan United side 2-1 in the final.
Two first half goals from Ciara Maguire and skipper Daisy Fleming in the opening half set Kilnamanagh on their way to victory.
“We won the SFAI Cup, the first time in the teams history,” explained Kilnamanagh FC U12 coach Damien Power.
“It’s a very proud achievement for the club and team for this to happen.
“We travelled all around the country which included six to seven rounds and it was very demanding.
“It’s a fantastic achievement with a special group of players, the success is down to three or four years of really hard work with the team.
“We are already looking forward to next season and expanding the ladies football section at all levels at the club,” added Damien.
