Tallaght’s Stephen Jones takes to the stage of the Civic in Maz and Bricks
By Mark Keane
TALLAGHT'S Stephen Jones will be performing in the play Maz and Bricks tonight and tomorrow night (Monday and Tuesday) in the Civic Theatre.
The play tells the story of Jones’ character, Bricks, who is on his way to see the mother of his young daughter, when he meets Maz on the Luas.
‘Maz and Bricks’ opens tonight, Monday, in the Civic Theatre
Maz, on the other hand, is on her way to attend a ‘Repeal the 8th’ demonstration when she bumps into Bricks.
The characters, who 32-year-old Jones told The Echo are “two very different people [from] different backgrounds” ultimately become unlikely friends as the day unfolds, with each changing in different ways.
Discussing opening night nerves for tonight’s play, Jones, who is from Glenview Park, said there’s always “pre-match nerves” but that “as soon as you go on it disappears”.
Tickets for the show, which is on tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday), from 8pm, at the Civic Theatre, can be booked here.
