McDonald’s fresh focus is on digital for future service

MCDONALD’s on the Belgard Road is re-opened recently following a whopper of a refurbishment, which includes self-service kiosks and on-site Samsung Galaxy tablets for customer use.
The Belgard Road outlet is part of an extensive refurbishment programme across the fast food burger chain, which has seen many of the existing McDonald’s restaurants undergoing complete refurbishments in the past seven years.
The new revamped Tallaght branch is the latest to undergo refurbishment and is set to open this Saturday, July 30 – with the new look restaurant having a strong digital focus.
Diners at the Belgard Road restaurant can now place their orders using self-service kiosks and avail of on-site Samsung Galaxy tablets, which families can use for playing games and surfing the web.
Customers can also keep in touch on the move, with wireless charging points for smartphones also drawn into the new store’s hi-tech design.
According to the company, a new kitchen design at McDonald’s Belgard Road also means that meals will be cooked fresh to order as soon as customers make their choice either at the till or the self-order kiosk.
McDonald’s Ireland Managing Director, Adrian Crean, said: “Great service is paramount to McDonald’s and we’re committed to delivering great food to our customers in the best environment possible.
“Our customers have been very loyal to us over the years and I am confident that the design improvements we have made at the Belgard Road restaurant will be a very welcome addition for the public in Tallaght.”
McDonald’s is also rolling out a progressive expansion plan, targeting two to three new restaurant openings each year over the next five years, with its 90th restaurant in Ireland due to open at East Wall Road later this summer.
