SHAMROCK Rovers will be without the services of Aaron McEneff for the 2021 season after it was announced he has signed for Scottish club Heart of Midlothian.
The Derry native has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Scottish Championship leaders in a deal believed to be worth about €200,000.

With the clock ticking in the Scottish transfer window, which closes tonight, both clubs announced the deal this afternoon.
McEneff impressed during his two-year spell in Tallaght, departing the Hoops an FAI Cup and League of Ireland winner.
Developing into one the best midfielders in the league, he helped the Hoops to their first FAI Cup in 32-years in 2019 and their 18th league title last season.
The 25-year-old’s form in 2020 led to him being called up to Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland squad in November as back-up following a COVID-19 outbreak.
A statement released by Rovers this afternoon read “Shamrock Rovers FC confirms the transfer of midfielder Aaron McEneff to Heart of Midlothian with immediate effect.
“All at Shamrock Rovers thank Aaron for two great seasons at the club and wish Aaron all the best in his career in Scotland.”
The loss of his flair around midfield will be seen by many as a setback for Stephen Bradley’s team, who will also be without star Jack Byrne after he left to join Apoel Nicosia last month.
Still the Hoops have been bolstered by the arrival of several key players in the off season, including midfielder Danny Mandroiu from Bohemians.
McEneff now looks set to be mixing it up with the giants of Scottish football next season should Hearts consolidate top spot in the Scottish Championship.
