
McLoughlin leads way for Chrónáin
A STANDOUT performance by Liam McLoughlin saw him score 2-6 and help Scoil Chrónáin to a 3-10 to 5-4 draw with Scoil Chainnigh in the Sciath Chlanna Gael in Croke Park on Tuesday.
A game that was tit-for-tat throughout seemed to fall in Scoil Chainnigh’s favour when they kicked a point with moments left in the game, only for Daíre Ó Conlúin to fire over a massive point afterwards.

The Rathcoole side came flying out of the traps and shot into an early lead after midfielder Gearóid Ó Scanláin met a high ball with his fist to score a goal.
Liam McLoughlin was on fire in the game as he kicked a brace of frees and a sideline before doubling his sides goal tally.
Picking the ball up in midfield, the St Marks player went on a meandering run towards goal pulling off a number of dummy solos before picking out the top corner to push his school ahead.
However, their Finglas opponents slotted a couple of goals beyond Scoil Chrónáin goalkeeper Dillion O’Bróin despite his best efforts.
By the interval Chrónáin had obtained a 2-5 to 2-2 lead and wing-back turned wing-forward Seamus DeGrás fired over twice early in the second half.
Captain McLoughlin kept chipping in with points and ended the game with a tally of 2-6 after his long-range free snuck under the crossbar to make it 19 points to 18 in favour of Scoil Chainnigh.
The spoils where shared after centre-back Ó Conlúin went charging up the field and kicked massive point from 35 yards in the dying moments of the game infront of the Cusack Stand to help secure a share of the spoils
