
Met Eireann issues weather warnings as Storm Fionn approaches

Met Eireann has issued weather warnings, with snow-ice on the way today (Tuesday, January 16), as Storm Fionn approaches.
According to Met Eireann, which has issued a Status Yellow warning, “snow showers are expected for the rest of today and tonight with 1 to 3 cm of snow expected”.
Met Eireann issues weather warnings for all of Ireland
The warning is valid until tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 9am.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully as collisions have already been reported.

There will also be mean wind speeds of 55 to 65 kb/h with gusts up to 110 km/h today.
South Dublin County Council has also issued a safety warning.

Met Eireann weather warnings for Ireland
Other areas around Ireland have been issued a Status Orange warning as Storm Fionn “will bring very strong westerly winds with mean wind speeds of 65 to 80 km/h and gusts of up to 120 km/hr”.
