The programme aims to inform schools about the work done by the 90 diplomatic missions and 2,000 staff of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade around the world, particularly with regard to Irish Aid.

The current initiative sends diplomats and Irish peacekeepers to 80 schools around the country to find out what students think of the global challenges facing the country.

The Irish Government have expended considerable energy and resources in an effort to secure a seat at the UN Security Council this year.

The Ambassador said he was delighted to be back at Moyle Park College and he spoke about his own career path.
