Nature on our Doorsteps book launch

Nature on our Doorsteps book launch

A new book has just been published by South Dublin County Council which is the result of a partnership project between The Echo and the Council’s Heritage Officer, Rosaleen Dwyer.

Every week since July 2017, The Echo has hosted the ‘Nature on our Doorsteps’ column. In this weekly piece, the County Heritage Officer provides little glimpses into the natural world, describing fascinating aspects of the ‘ordinary’ plants and creatures around us, encouraging us all to stop and look a little closer at the wonders around us.

The council has published a compilation of the first 52 weekly columns in a new publication titled ‘Nature on our Doorsteps, Volume 1’.

This lovely new book presents the text and accompanying photographs as originally printed by The Echo in a new layout for this book format, following the seasons over one year from July 2017 to August 2018.

‘Nature on our Doorsteps, Volume 1’ is on sale in the County Library, Tallaght, for just €10.
