Networking event will allow businesses promote themselves
By Mary Dennehy
A NETWORKING morning for new businesses is being held in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght, on Saturday, January 27.
The free event is being organised by Tallaght resident James Lumumba, who established his own event management company, Peacock Events and Designs, in 2015.
Speaking with The Echo, James, who lives in Jobstown, explained the difficulties for new businesses, especially in the area of networking.
“As a new business I think it is very important to network and to learn from other businesses,” James said.
“The event will help new business owners to meet new people, network and learn what’s working and what’s not working for other businesses in the area.”
He added: “The event will allow businesses to promote themselves, make contacts and pick up advice from other businesses, it’s all about learning from each other and getting ideas.”
The free event is called Network 2 Success, with businesses up to two years old invited to “mingle, connect and grow”.
James hopes that the event will provide access to opportunities for businesses, help to raise their profile, general referrals, increase business and connect them with key influencers.
Running from 10am to 12pm, the event will involve a presentation after which, participants will be divided into groups to network.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring plenty of business cards and marketing material.
