New public park planned for the Adamstown area

AN APPLICATION for the provision of a new public park, to be called Tobermaclugg Park, in the Adamstown SDZ has been lodged with South Dublin Council.

Developers Cairn Homes Properties Ltd, Tierra Ltd, and Hugh McGreevy and Sons Ltd jointly lodged the application for the Tobermaclugg Development Area.

Proposed park in Adamstown will be around 3.4 hectares

Their plans include the development of a park of approximately 3.4 hectares, comprising of site development and landscape works.

The proposed park will incorporate pedestrian pathways, maintenance access and routes, seating zones, areas for play and planting and all ancillary boundary treatments and.

Provision for planting, necessary regrading works and realignment of portion of existing Tobermaclugg Stream, and a total of six visitor car-parking spaces are also proposed, to be located to the eastern boundary of the site along Shackleton Park.

A decision on the application is due from the council by April 5.
