New role for Sharon: Tallaght Community Arts new Creative Director

Tallaght Community Arts is delighted to welcome their new creative director, Sharon Devlin, who is taking over the mantle from Tony Fagan, reports Ryan Butler.

Having been involved with Tallaght Community Arts for over 18 years, being the coordinator of the organisation’s DoubleTAKE Supported Arts studio for over 12 of those years, and being the business founder of Sharon Devlin Art, Sharon feels that she can “make a really positive creative contribution to TCA.”

Her application process included a call-out for auditions and then a series of shortlistings, which resulted in her attending an interview with a panel.

Her plans in her new role include the TCA Team and herself continuing to support DoubleTAKE, Doors To Elsewhere, and Street Arts Academy.

They will be linking in with the “great wealth” of creative talent within Rua Red Arts Centre to create works to engage with and serve the communities of South Dublin County.

They also plan to put out an announcement through The Echo and social media to look for artists, creatives, students, and graduates to build a database for their future arts programmes.

Sharon is very excited about her new role and wishes to serve the South Dublin County communities to the best of her abilities and to “build connection through creativity for the good of all.”.
