One Act Plays: Hosted by Lucan Drama
Lucan Drama is delighted to announce another evening of one-act plays in the heart of Lucan Village,”, according to group spokesperson David Doyle.
Vinny Casey is the director of ‘Thick as Thieves,’ a brief play about the ups and downs of a friendship over a lifetime.
‘Mary Mary’ is a comedy based on mistaken identity, too many Marys, and communication with the afterlife. Lucan Drama Chairperson Mary Guy is in the director’s chair for this hilarious production.
‘Guess Who’s Coming for Coffee’ is a comedy/light drama about four people gathered in a small cafe and how listening in on other people’s conversations can lead to unusual outcomes. David Doyle is on directing duties here.
This is Lucan Drama’s first production to be staged at Courtney’s of Lucan, and everyone involved is excited and very grateful to the management and staff of Courtney’s for the use of their marvelous performance space.
Next up for Lucan Drama is an “intriguing undertaking,” as they have been asked to stage a production based on an actual historical murder that took place in Lucan in the early 19th century.
The performance is scheduled to take place during the 2024 Lucan Festival, and to add a layer of further historical authenticity, the show is to take place in one of Lucan’s finest 19th-century buildings.
More information is to follow in June/July.
The 3 one-act plays will be performed in Courtney’s from May 12–15; tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss out.
