Organisations are encouraged to apply for international conference

ORGANISATIONS and individuals are encouraged to register for an international conference on social enterprise, which will take place in the city centre on May 24.

The half-day conference is being hosted by Clondalkin based Oakfield Trust and will take place from 9.45am to 1.30pm at the Wood Quay Venue.

It will include a combination of international and homegrown speakers, panel discussions with CEOs and leaders from the enterprise and social sectors, and video contributions from the social enterprise community.

The event will be moderated by the Managing Director of the international Hayes Culleton Group, Susan Hayes Culleton, known as ‘The Positive Economist’.

Chairperson Aileen O’Donoghue said the organisation was looking forward to “an open and thought-provoking event with many opportunities for audience participation”.

Oakfield Trust is a Dublin based social enterprise and registered charity and has been successfully supporting community organisations and social enterprises for 26 years.

The charity also drew attention to the upcoming deadline for its current ‘open’ social enterprise fund of €25,000 – which will close on May 12.

It is the organisation’s first ‘open fund’ which any interested and relevant party can apply for.

Applications are being particularly encouraged from the Clondalkin and South Dublin County areas, but projects will be considered from outside the locality or nationwide.

The fund includes three categories including: Scale Up funding, Get Started funding and an Explore Award.

Oakfield Trust plans to announce open funds of €25,000 twice annually for the next five years. Registration is open on Eventbrite for the international conference on social enterprise, or more information on the Oakfield website HERE.
