Over five year wait for homeless households seeking accommodation

HOMELESS households have to wait over five years on average to obtain suitable accommodation from South Dublin County Council while over 1,500 wait on the social housing list in Tallaght.

Statistics released by the local authority showed that of the 115 property allocations to homeless households across the county, there was an average wait time of 5.5 years.
