Parents urged to help stop anti-social behaviour impacting on Tallaght bus service
As attacks on buses in the Tallaght area continue, some local residents have called on the parents of those involved to take action.
Over the last three weeks the 27 bus route has had to be curtailed on several occasions – with areas including Brookfield being left without a bus service.
Dublin Bus have been forced to re-route the bus, using the N81 to reach the terminus in Jobstown rather than travelling its normal route at times – avoiding the Brookfield area.
This weekend posters have been erected by locals, calling on parents and the wider community to come together to bring to an end the anti-social behaviour which could potentially see the service restricted.
Speaking to the Echo last week Dublin Bus said: “Regarding your queries on the diversions to route 27 due to anti-social behaviour, Dublin Bus operates a fleet of 987 buses with 400,000 customer journeys a day.
“While the operation of such a large-scale operation is challenging, the level of anti-social behaviour is relatively low.”
