Partnership aims to inspire young minds of Kingswood CC students
Spectrum Print Logistics based in Citywest Business Campus has formed a partnership with local secondary school Kingswood Community College, in providing summer employment opportunities to young students.
This collaboration aims to empower and inspire young minds by offering them valuable hands-on experience across multiple departments in a professional work environment.
Transition Year is a crucial stage in a student’s educational journey, where they explore different career paths and gain practical skills outside the traditional classroom setting.
Recognising the significance of this phase, Spectrum has opened its doors to Kingswood Community College Transition Year students, offering them an opportunity to experience real-world work scenarios and develop essential skills that will benefit them in their future endeavours.
Through this partnership, Spectrum have selected a group of talented and motivated students to join its workforce during the summer break.
The selected students will be assigned to various departments within the company, gaining exposure to kitting, warehousing and logistics.
By working closely with professionals in their respective areas of interest, the Transition Year students will gain first-hand experience, exposure to industry practices, and insights into various career paths.
They will have the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and learn important soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management.
“We at Kingswood Community College are delighted to have developed this link with Spectrum Print Logistics. We have a cohort of students who are availing of wonderful opportunities with the company, and are engaging in Summer work developing their skills and experiencing the working world” said Mary Murphy, Deputy Principal of Kingswood Community College.
“Forging links in the community is a cornerstone of our ethos in Kingswood Community College and builds on our mission to foster a rounded holistic individual”.
