Nominate your local hero for the People of the Year Awards
By Mary Dennehy
DO YOU know someone who does extraordinary things that make a difference to their family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues or local community?
The People of the Year Awards is back and is inviting people to nominate their local heroes for the Everyday Hero Award, which applauds those who are always doing something for others – without the expectation of recognition.
The awards, which are being run in partnership with Today with Sean O’Rourke on Radio 1, is calling out to people in Dublin to nominate their heroic friends, family members, neighbours or co-workers, with the winners being honoured at the 43rd People of the Year Awards in March.
RTÉ Radio 1 presenter Sean O’Rourke said: “Some of the most extraordinary people I have interviewed over the years are the unsung, everyday heroes.
“So, if you know someone you’d like to nominate, please nominate them today.”
The closing date for nominations is January 19, with the awards, which are organised by Rehab Group, going out live on RTE 1 on Saturday, March 3.
Ireland’s Everyday Hero can be of any age or from any walk of life and to nominate your special person visit peopleoftheyear.com or follow the People of the Year Awards on Facebook or Twitter.
