PLANNING permission has been granted for the completion of approximately 1,475 metres of roadway in Adamstown within the boundaries of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone.

The roadway includes the completion of 1,000 metres of road know as the Loop Road, currently constructed to base course under a previous planning application.

Plans also contain proposals for a six metre wide carriageway, to include cycle lanes, together with planted verge, tree planting, public lighting and footpath on the eastern side of the Loop Road.

A buffer strip and kerbs are to be located on the western side of the Loop Road, where the layout has been permitted under a previous planning application.

Plans include the completion of approximately 225 metres of Adamstown Drive in the vicinity of the Loop Road, together with planted verge, tree planting, public lighting, off-road cycle track and footpath on the southern side of Adamstown Drive.

New junction layouts will be located at the junction of the Loop Road and Adamstown Drive and Adamstown Way, and the provision of off-road cycle tracks at those junctions, connecting to on-road cycle lanes along the Loop Road.

Tandy’s Lane will see a realignment of approximately 240 metres at the existing junction of Tandy’s Lane and the Loop Road.

A new staggered junction will be located at the junction of Adamstown Park and Station Road between that junction and the proposed site of the Adamstown all-weather pitch.

South Dublin County Council granted planning permission to applicants Adamstown DAC on September 5.
