Permission refused for residential development

SOUTH Dublin County Council has given the thumbs down to a proposed residential development in Rathfarnham.
Coill Avon has been refused permission on Whitechurch Road
Coill Avon Ltd on Whitechurch Road, Rathfarnham, has been refused planning permission by SDCC to construct a residential development of 63 units.
The plans included the demolition of the existing house, Coill Avon, and the construction of 28 three-bedroom, two-storey terraced houses; three four-bedroom, two-storey with dormer end of terrace houses and three four-bedroom, three-storey, end-of-terrace houses, ranging in size from 110 sq m to 178 sq m with in curtilage car parking.
The plans include nine visitor car-parking spaces; 16 two-bed apartments over four floors (Block A), seven one-bed apartments, five two-bed apartments over three floors and one community room (Block B) with 30 car-parking spaces; bin store; secure bicycle parking; open space in two locations including woodland area of 1,795 sq m and a green of 708sq m; new boundary treatment; landscaping and all associated service provision, including two substations and alterations to the shared access and vehicular bridge to Coill Avon and Lynbrook on a site of 1.76 hectares (1.6 hectares application site and balance 0.16 hectares includes a section of the public road to facilitate connection to the public foul drainage system).
