Pfizer given go-ahead for new lab extension
PFIZER Ireland Pharmaceuticals has been granted planning permission for a modular laboratory extension, a modular warehouse extension and a permanent 220-space car park at its site in Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin.
The submission includes plans for a 470 sq m single-storey modular laboratory extension, with a height of 4.5 metres, located to the south of the existing quality assurance/quality control building.
It is proposed that a 476 sq m single-storey modular warehouse extension, with a height of 5.2 metres, will be located to the south of the existing warehouse.
There are plans for the warehouse extension to consist of six equally sized modular cold storage units and an associated external plant, with plans for the facility to be built in phases according to need.
Plans for the conversion of the existing temporary construction-related car park to a permanent car park for 220 car parking spaces, including lighting and ancillary works, also form part of the application.
It is proposed that a 2-metre-high new screen wall constructed of metal cladding will be placed on top of an existing 2.7-metre-high screen wall, around the existing waste-handling yard.
The application also consists of a variation to a previously permitted development on an activity for which a licence under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended) is required.
The applicant stated in the application that full details of the proposed development and its anticipated environmental impacts will be notified to the Environmental Protection Agency.
South Dublin County Council granted permission for the development on August 9.
