Free finance workshop for parents of children with special needs

By Mary Dennehy

THE parents of children with special needs are invited to a free legal and financial planning workshop in the Maldron Hotel, Newlands Cross, on September 13.

Hosted by Financial Wellbeing, an organisation started by the parents of children with special needs, the workshop will help parents to secure their child’s long-term financial future and relieve the worry of planning for their future.

Euro coins and banknotes

Some of the areas covered in the workshop will cover hospital passport and special needs bank account, financial and legal challenges facing children with special needs, when to set up a special needs trust and how to choose the right guardians and trustees.

After the workshop, organisers will be available to answer any personal questions.

The workshop is free but those in attendance are encouraged to leave a voluntary donation of €10, which will go directly to a Dublin-based charity that supports children with special needs.

For further details on the workshop, which will take place in the Maldron Hotel, Newlands Cross on Wednesday, September 13 from 7.30pm to 9pm, visit www.financialwellbeing.ie.
