Plans lodged for 114 houses and 28 apartments at Fortunestown Lane

A PLANNING application for the construction of 114 houses and 28 apartments at a site at the junction of Fortunestown Lane and Citywest Road has been lodged with South Dublin County Council reports Aideen O’Flaherty.

The proposed residential development will be on a site of 4.07 hectares with Fortunestown Lane to the north, the N82 Citywest Road to the west and Scoil Aoife by the east.

The application, which has been lodged by Citywest Ltd, contains plans to construct 114 two-storey detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, 99 of which will be three-bedroom houses and 15 of which will be two-bedroom houses.

The proposed apartment structures will comprise of one and two bedroom units, contained in two four and five storey buildings.

The plans also include provisions for access to the development via two vehicular entrances, through the creation of a new entrance from Citywest Road and an extension to an existing entrance from Fortunestown Lane.

The proposed development also includes plans to facilitate car and bicycle parking, an ESB sub-station, open spaces and landscaping.

The closing date for third party submission is April 10, with  a decision due from the council by May 1.
