Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan said: “Since the launch of the Stardust Truth Campaign at the beginning of the summer, we have been inundated with requests for postcards from sporting clubs and workplaces across the country.

“The campaign is asking members of the public to sign postcards which urge the Attorney General to exercise his right under Section 24 of the Coroners Act 1962 to grant a fresh inquest into the deaths of the 48 people who lost their lives in the Stardust fire.

“The Stardust tragedy of 1981 is one of those events that will never be forgotten and it is shameful that, 37 years later, the families of those who died have still not received the answers to what happened that awful night.

“If anybody wishes to join the campaign, please make contact through the ‘Justice for the Stardust 48’ Facebook page or through my own office.”
