YOUTH Olympic double gold medallist Rhasidat Adeleke will be the special guest at this year’s Tallaght Person of the Year Awards, which will take place on November 16 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel.
The 16-year-old sprinter, who is a member of Tallaght Athletics Club, won the Maurice McConnell Youth Award at last year’s event, and this year will be a triumphant return for the talented sportswoman from Deer Park.
Rhasidat Adeleke celebrates after winning the girls’ 100m Final in July at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium during the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan
Rhasidat’s mother, Ade, told The Echo that she is very proud of and happy for her daughter, and when asked about how she feels about the wider Tallaght community recognising her daughter’s success, she said: “We really appreciate all of the support.”
