Discussions underway to progress Brookfield Community Centre
DISCUSSIONS are underway with key stakeholders about the Brookfield Youth and Community Centre in Tallaght, according to South Dublin County Council.
The council stated that these discussions are being held to “progress the establishment of a new entity to facilitate the accommodation of all user groups.”

An 18-day-long sit-in was held by the staff of the centre last October after they were issued with notice of immediate redundancy.
The sit-in ended when the staff received assurances from South Dublin County Council that the centre would reopen.
Currently, the ETB and Foróige continue to deliver youth related services from the premises.
It is hoped that a permanent solution will be reached over the coming weeks.
