Project Edward sees large Garda presence on country’s roads continue today
A large Garda presence on the country’s roads remains this afternoon as Project Edward continues.
European Day Without a Road Death is being held across Europe today, and is run in conjunction with the European Traffic Police (TISPOL).
On average, 70 people die on European roads every day, and already today Gardai have clocked many motorists travelling at dangerous speeds.
In an update from Gardai, they said since midnight GoSafe had checked the speed of 23,780 and vehicles, and had registered 65 which had been travelling too fast.
The project will continue throughout the day and into this evening.
