Proposal for seven warehouses at Greenogue Recycling facility

A PROPOSAL for the demolition of existing green recycling structures and the construction of seven warehouses at Greenogue Recycling’s facility in Rathcoole has been submitted to the council.

Applicant John Gargle is seeking permission for the demolition works, and the construction of seven warehouses, with a maximum height of 15.3 metres.

The total floor area of the warehouse development is 16,602.2 m2, made up of seven units.

Unit 1 has a gross floor area of 3,851.1 m2, Unit 2 has a gross floor area of 3,886.8 m2, Unit 3 has a gross floor area of 2,758.3 m2, and Unit 4 has a gross floor area of 1,685.4 m2.

Unit 5 has a gross floor area of 1,062.2 m2, Unit 6 has a gross floor area of 1,679.2 m2, while Unit 7 has a gross floor area of 1,679.2 m2.

Access will be provided from the existing entrance to the site via Tay Lane.

Provision of new footpaths and cycle paths throughout the site, including a new footpath/cycle path connection to the Greenogue Logistics Park to the north of the site, is included.

Permission is also being sought for 170 car parking spaces and 100 secure, sheltered bicycle parking spaces to serve the warehouse units.

All ancillary site development works are included, such as minor realignment of the site entrance, landscaping, internal roads, drainage, utility services, service yards and HGV loading/unloading areas.

Also included are level access goods doors, dock levellers, site lighting, boundary treatments, signage, storm water drainage network, underground water and foul servicing and green roofs on warehouse units.

A decision on the application is due from South Dublin County Council by January 3.
