Public may make submissions about litter management plan

MEMBERS of the public can make submissions and observations on South Dublin County Council’s Draft Replacement Litter Management Plan until 4pm on Tuesday, September 19.

The council is responsible for keeping a number of places litter-free, including public roads, council-owned green and open spaces, council-managed playspaces, and community gardens.

The draft document outlines a number of the council’s roles for litter management activity, including litter and waste enforcement, public realm services, and communications and awareness campaigns.

Topics covered in the plan include bonfire management, CCTV and environmental technologies, litter cleansing, dog fouling, graffiti, and litter-bin management.

The document can be viewed online, and submissions can be made, on South Dublin County Council’s public consultation portal, consult.sdublincoco.ie.

The Draft Plan is also on public display in County Hall, Tallaght; Civic Centre, Clondalkin; and South Dublin Libraries.

Written submissions can be sent to the Senior Executive Officer, South Dublin County Council , Environment, Water & Climate Change, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, to be received before 4pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Written submissions may also be sent to info@sdublincoco.ie clearly marked ‘Draft Litter Management Plan’.
