Rain, sleet and snow expected to bring hazardous conditions
A STATUS Yellow snow and ice warning is in effect nationwide, with temperatures in Dublin expected to drop to -1 tonight.
A Status Yellow snow and ice warning is in place nationally until 12 noon on Friday – with rain, sleet and snow to spread northwards across the country accompanied by strengthening winds.
Accumulations of snow are expected in many areas along with icy conditions.
These conditions, Met Eireann has advised, could give rise to hazardous driving conditions, travel disruption and poor visibility and potentially hazardous road conditions.
According to Met Eireann, it will be cold and windy in the capital tonight with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow.
Met Eireann is forecasting lows of -1 to +1 degrees in fresh to strong northeasterly winds.
Friday will be cold again with rain, sleet and snow clearing eastwards through the morning, leaving some hazardous road and footpath conditions at first.
