Reiki, races, meditation and mindfulness for Recovery
A SERIES of events takes place in the latter half of September for National Recovery Month.
Clondalkin Drug and Alcohol Task Force published a timetable of events, that might be of interest for residents to attend.
The event includes a 100km/50km recovery cycle on Saturday, September 16, as riders from Tus Nua Recovery Roaders and BYAP Recovery Cycling Club finish their recovery race at Clondalkin Tus Nua.
Riders are expected to finish at approximately 2pm and there will be a family friendly celebration with food, music and bouncy castles.
Meanwhile at CASP on Fonthill Road, starting on Monday, September 18, and Wednesday, September 20, Matt Burke from Magic Minds will be delivering mindfulness and meditation workshops.
The workshops at CASP will continue every Monday and Wednesday at 6.15pm, for six weeks, starting from September 18 and 20.
On Wednesday, September 27, also at CASP, the centre will host a day-long recovery day of holistic therapies, which will include reiki, ear acupuncture, facials and massage.
Taking place from 10am to 3pm, the day’s event will be followed by live music, reiki and acupuncture at the Recovery Café.
Finally, on Satuyrday, September 30, there will be a Clondalkin and Canal Communities Recovery Choir performance at a venue to be decided, from 11am to 1pm.
