Remand for teenager found with stolen cheques and cut-throat razor
By Brendan Grehan
A TEENAGER (18) who was caught with cheques that had been stolen from a solicitor’s office was remanded for a restorative justice report by Tallaght Court.
Leon Haide had also been found in possession of a cut-throat razor.
The court had heard that on December 30, 2014, Haide and another youth were searched and were found in possession of a laptop.
Haide was found in possession of two cheques and a cut-throat razor.
The cheques had been stolen from a solicitor’s office in South Dublin in a burglary on November 30, 2014.
Haide, with an address at Dromcarra Avenue, Tallaght , had pleaded guilty to handling stolen property: two cheques and a cut-throat razor on a street in Tallaght on December 30, 2014.
He was before Judge Bridget Reilly for a restorative justice report.
Judge Reilly noted that the report wasn’t complete.
Haide’s solicitor, Michael Hennessy, asked the judge if she would consider remanding it for a further report. The Probation Officer said a restorative justice report would take six weeks.
Judge Reilly remanded Haide on continuing bail to a date in early October for a restorative justice report.
