Resident is surprised to see topless woman in park

A RESIDENT walking through Sean Walsh Park was surprised to discover a topless woman enjoying the sunshine.
“I was surprised more than anything else – maybe in more discreet locations but it’s not the type of thing you see in a local park,” said the resident, who asked to remain nameless.

“It was a sunny Saturday and I was walking home from The Square but I had to do a double take when I saw the woman. I couldn’t quite believe it.”
With many a nice day ahead during the Summer months, sunbathers without clothes on may want to avoid detection by authorities.
Those found guilty “offending modesty” are liable for a €634 fine or six months behind bars under Irish law.
Under Section 18 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act (1990) “any person who commits, in any place which the public habitually pass as of right or by permission, any act in such a way as to offend modesty or cause scandal or injure the morals of the community shall be guilty.”
The Echo contacted South Dublin County council for comment.
