Residents don’t give ‘a fiddlers’ dumping rubbish on green space
DUMPING at a green space in a residential estate is caused by people who live in the estate, and has been going on for years, according to a residents group.
The green space is at Riversdale Road in Clondalkin, and domestic rubbish is dumped beside a wall, and a row of houses.
One resident, who did not wish to be named, said he has confronted an offending neighbour in the act two weeks ago, and was told “sure I’ve been doing it for years.”
“It’s people from the estate. We’ve asked them not to dump there, that they could be prosecuted by the council but they don’t give a fiddlers, and their own houses are pristine, they don’t do it on their own doorstep,” said the man.
“The council environment section put me onto the litter warden and he said his hands are tied unless they can find personal identification in the rubbish.”
The Echo understands two residents had to pay €500 in Rentokil fees last year due to a rodent problem caused by the rubbish.
