Residents oppose Bohernabreena development
By Aideen O'Flaherty
TWO Bohernabreena residents have lodged an appeal against South Dublin County Council’s decision to grant permission for the development of 52 dwellings on a site east of Bohernabreena Road and south of Old Court Road.
The development is on a site of 2.66 hectares within lands designated in the Ballycullen/Oldcourt Local Area Plan 2014.
The site is located beside Bohernabreena Cemetery
It will comprise one three-storey, four-bed detached house, one two-storey, three-bed detached house, 32 two- and three-storey, three- and four-bed detached houses and 18 one- and two-bed apartment units in one three-storey apartment block.
David and Anne Kennedy lodged an appeal against the decision this month, on a number of grounds.
These grounds include concerns about the fact that no works have been undertaken in relation to a Main Link Road in the mainly rural area, the “inadequate nature” of the surrounding road network, and concerns about the impact the development could have on traffic in the locality.
A decision on the appeal has not yet been made by An Bord Pleanála.
