Roadstone and Darcy McGee’s set for All-Ireland Club Championships

ROADSTONE and Darcy McGee’s Snooker Clubs will each field three teams in next week’s All-Ireland Club Championships in the Glen Eagle Hotel in Killarney.

The former will see their Premier team, under captain Stephen Merrigan, line out in the A competitors, hoping to emulate, if not better, their Last 16 finish in recent seasons.

The two Roadstone Division One outfits under captains John McDonald and Tony Kenny will be looking for a strong run in the B Division tournament.

The former currently sits third in their respective group in the DBSL while Kenny’s side are seventh.

Darcy McGee’s will be hopeful that their Premier team, under captain Stephen Reddington, can carve out a good run in the A ranks in Killarney having gone top of the DBSL.

And captain’s Justin Byrne and Andy Carton will lead their respective Division One sides in to the B competitions.

On another note Darcy McGees will be holding a special exhibition event, involving Denis Taylor and Ken Doherty in Faughs GAA Club on June 8.

The club recently welcomed 1980 World Champion Cliff Thorburn to the club for a number of exhibition matches against local players back in October.
