Robyn finishes third in World Championships

SINN Fein Councillor Mark Ward congratulated Clondalkin Irish Dancer Robyn Connolly for finishing third in the World Championships in Glasgow over the Easter weekend.

Last month, Cllr Ward tabled a motion with South Dublin County Council to recognise Robyn’s achievements, ahead of her participation in the World Championships.

“What a fantastic, wonderful achievement for Robyn in finishing third in the Irish Dancing World Championships in Glasgow,” said Cllr Ward.

“Robyn had previously finished fourth twice so to finally get a podium finish is brilliant.”

Lauding Robyn’s “amazing” achievements, Cllr Ward praised her for picking up “three major Leinster titles, three Irish National titles, and one All Ireland Championship.”

“That is some haul of honours for someone so young at 19 years-of-age. Robyn has also travelled the world with River Dance and was recently on Dancing With the Stars.

“I just want to extend my congratulations to Robyn and her family. She is a credit to herself, her parents, her club and her area of North Clondalkin.”
