FAMILY-owned food production and catering company Rosie and Jim is recruiting full-time staff to maintain safe work practices in the face of new challenges presented by the coronavirus crisis.

Rosie and Jim Food Company

Based in Bluebell, the award-winning company, which is owned and managed by husband and wife Jimmy and Rosie McLoughlin, produces gluten free breaded chicken products such as goujons, garlic kievs and battered chicken chunks.

The husband and wife team also has strong links to the local community, Rosie is from Ballyfermot while Jimmy is a former butcher from McLoughlin’s Butchers on Ballyfermot Road.

The business began in 1997 as a start-up producing ready to cook chicken products for butcher shops, supermarkets and restaurants across Dublin.

By 2010 and with the emerging trend for gluten products, the business began to develp wheat-free versions of their recipes that didn’t compromise on the taste or texture of their breaded chicken.

“Since 2015 the company has been expanding rapidly and a second major extension of our factory in five years is now underway to cater for growing demand across Ireland, the UK and EU markets”, Jimmy said.

“Development of new products remains priority and the business is soon to launch our own glutenfree version of Crispy shredded Chicken, with plans for meat-free vegan products in the pipeline.”

Due to a surge in demand for their products in butchers and supermarkets, Rosie and Jim is currently recruiting.

“The extraordinary and unprecendented COVID-19 crisis has taken everyone by surprise and the business now faces challenges with a surge in demand for breaded chicken in butcher shops and supermarkets”, Jimmy said.

“To maintain safe work practices, an evening shift has been introduced to spread the workforce across production from 7am to 12 midnight and the company requires additional staff preferably with some experience in food production or catering.

“These will be long-term positions for this innovative food company as it continues to grow and develop.”

Rosie and Jim are seeking candidates for a number of production operatives to join their team at their Naas Road facility, beside the Luas Bluebell stop.

The positions are full-time, 40-hours, Monday to Friday, positions, with shift options available.

Previous experience in food processing/preparation is an advantage however, full training will be provided.
