
SBG students shine on the world stage
A NUMBER of local competitors from SBG Headquarters on the Naas Road figured strongly at the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Junior World GI & no Gi Championships in Wolverhampton.
Clondalkin’s Mohammed Avtarhanov who competed in Grey Teens +70 division, won gold in his class while Tallaght’s Josh O'Rourke followed suit in the Teen -65 Gi while also scooping bronze in no Gi section.

Alex Keogh topped the podium in the Teen -55 no Gi field and emerged runner-up in GI.
Nate Kelly and Ben Meade, both from Tallaght, medalled with the former taking silver in -46 no Gi and bronze in -48 Gi while Meade earned bronze in -60 gi
Akim Kinsella was unlucky to lose by advantage in the Gi while Sean Kenna narrowly missed out in his first competition after returning from injury.
